In 90s, while most of the focus in India was always on The Big Denim Story (Levi’s, Lee, Wrangler and may be somewhat to Pepe Jeans), emergence of global exposure in 2000s and boom of online shopping sites in late 2010s has given much needed rise to the new crop of men’s apparel brands, new bosses in the top fashion brands for men.
While these brands are new very close to their English counterparts ( the great designs from west, america and European fashion houses) they are a bit icy, affordable, on pocket as well 🙂 Here, I am gonna pick few of such brands which offer best in class designs for an urban men looking for best fashion apparels.
1. Indian Terrain
While most of the apparel brands in India were way behind the American and European design trends 3-4 years ago, Indian Terrain was the probably the first Indian brand in upper mid-price range to launch with designs very much similar to what you could find in west such as flannel shirts, chinos, button down shirts, work-wear blue checks, washed t-shirts and shirts etc. Indian Terrain is still maintains its lead in designs and matches the great street wear clothing lines of any top end brand. Indian Terrain shirts give you a nice uptown feel when you wear them, and it’s chinos are thick, heavy and rugged in fabric just like chinos from GAP and abercrombie. Indian Terrain clothes usually starts around INR 1500 and it offers semi-casual, causal wear for urban men.
2. Arrow NewYork
If it comes to right slim fit shirts, it has to be Arrow NewYork. An Arrow NewYork short has all the right nuances of a trendy slim fit sharp shirt, in places such as seam less design, short colors, shrug cuts on both sides and dark lycra febric. Arrow NewYork shirts starts usually around INR 1999
3. Roadster – this private label from myntra is superbly high on latest style trends, the country side street fashion norms and yet very budget friendly. Roadster has complete range of apparel, accessories, and shoes for men and women both. Roadster chinos are started around INR 1200 but you can easily get them around 900 after applying some discount coupons ( which are almost always available nowadays however very few shoppers use them ). The 900 Roadster chinos are the INR 1400 chinos that you find on other brands. Other roadster offerings such as casual shoes, shirts and sweaters are good on designs and price too.
